19.08.2010 - New product! Sterile sponges on a removable handle in packages “Whirl-Pak®”
Company Nasco has released a new product - Sterile sponges for taking swabs from the surface on a removable plastic handle packaged in bags VIHR. They allow you to take swabs, even in remote places, very convenient and easy to use. Correct sampling of work areas, equipment, tools, animal carcasses and other surfaces for analysis of Listeria, Salmonella, E. Coli, colibacillus, anthrax and other pathogens is important for obtaining reliable results.
Dry sterile sponge in a package VIHR is intended for sampling of surfaces, including those in remote places. Innovative design allows you to take samples, without touching the sponge. The sponge is fixed in a holder, which is screwed to the polypropylene handle.
The sponge is designed to simplify the process of sampling and research in the laboratory. In case of a quantitative analysis for slurrying cells, collected by the sponge, the sponge can be placed in a blade homogenizer directly in the package with the solvent. If you use sponges for sampling with the aim of inoculation of pathogenic microorganisms - sterile enriched broth must be added to the package. Or if a separate container is used for the enrichment sink the sponge in the prepared broth in a container with polypropylene inner surfaces withstanding autoclaving. Non-toxic adhesive material, attaching a sponge to a plastic handle, melts at a autoclaving temperature of 121 ˚ C. Therefore, if the decontamination of the broth after researching will pollute the inner surfaces of the container, it will be difficult to wash them.
How to work with sponges:
Package with a sponge "Whirl-Pak-SPONGE-CLIP" - a dry sponge
1. Sign the package if you need.
2. Tear off the top edge of the package.
3. Open the package by pulling the tabs on both sides.
4. Add the appropriate solvent for wetting the sponge - just 10 ml.
5. Squeeze the sponge out of the package several times so it is completely soaked with liquid.
6. Using the handle lift the sponge over the bottom of the package and squeeze it outside to remove fluid excess. Holding a plastic handle, wipe the surface with both sides of the sponge and / or follow the recommendations of the USDA / HACCP.
7. Remove the sponge in the package again, and holding it with one hand outside the package, remove the handle with the other hand and throw it away, leaving a sponge in the package.
8. Close the bag in one of two ways:
A. Tightly wrap the top edge 4-5 times and bend the ends of the wire to secure it.
B. Hold the packet over the wire tabs, tighten it 3 or more times and secure with wire.
Send the package to the laboratory for analysis.
